Gerald and Julie Drummond both grew up in suburban Perth, on the farm tour you will hear their story of how they came to live off-grid, on 148 acres in Gingin.
The Drummonds live in a straw-bale house built by Gerald, which is serviced by a stand-alone solar power system and rainwater tanks. Two-thirds of the property is set aside as banksia woodland.
Now they milk a small herd of dairy goats to make award-winning cheeses and gelato.
The tour costs $20 and includes a gelato on arrival, an information session on the property and goats, cheese tastings and a cheese of your choice to take home. (Please bring an esky/cool bag to take your cheese home.)
You can book for the following days:
(Saturday) 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
