A taste of history beside the Moore River

There’s more to Moore River Brewing Company than great beer and a relaxed country atmosphere — this beautiful property has a story that stretches back more than 160 years.

Family owned since 1862, the historic 40-acre property sits on the banks of the pristine Moore River and is steeped in the history of the region.

In the 1870s, great-great-grandfather Daniel King built and operated the Old Junction Hotel on Gingin Brook Road in Neergabby. The hotel provided food, beverages and a much-needed resting place for travellers making their way along the Old Stock Route.

Today, visitors can experience a little of that same country hospitality while enjoying the modern-day craft of brewing in this beautiful country setting.

So, when you’re heading north from Perth, why not make a day of it? Take the scenic drive through the Northern Valleys, explore the countryside, wildflowers and stop at Moore River Brewing Company for a locally brewed beer and a taste of the region’s history.

From an old travellers’ resting place to a destination for today’s travellers — some places just know how to welcome you.
